ADE HELIOS RD3-031 Closed Emitter Red Dot Sight – 6 Reticle Patterns, Rechargeable Battery, Motion Activated, RMR Footprint

Item Description

Introducing the new ADE HELIOS RD3-031, a fully enclosed emitter red dot sight engineered for reliability, durability, and rapid target acquisition. Featuring a rechargeable battery system, motion activated technology, 6 selectable reticle patterns, and ADE's Patent Pending Structural Mounting System™, the HELIOS delivers exceptional performance while maintaining a compact and lightweight profile.

Unlike traditional open-emitter optics, the HELIOS utilizes a fully enclosed emitter design that helps protect the emitter from dust, moisture, lint, mud, rain, carbon fouling, and other environmental debris, helping maintain a clear aiming point in demanding conditions.

The HELIOS uses the popular RMR footprint and is compatible with most slides and mounting plates designed for Trijicon RMR, SRO, Holosun 407C, 507C, 508T, 507 Comp, and other optics utilizing the standard RMR footprint.

Based on your HELIOS manual, I would make the description more marketing-oriented while still explaining the engineering advantage. The biggest selling point is that the screws are no longer the primary recoil-bearing components—the recoil load is transferred through the structural engagement between the optic and the mounting base.

Here is a polished product description:

NEW ADE Structural Mounting System™

Unlike conventional RMR optics that rely primarily on mounting screws to absorb recoil forces, the HELIOS features ADE's patented Structural Mounting System™. The optic is secured using an innovative side-clamp architecture that transfers recoil forces directly into the mounting interface instead of placing the load on the mounting screws.

By allowing the optic body and mounting surface to share the recoil load, the system dramatically reduces stress on the screws, helping minimize screw loosening, screw shear, and long-term mounting fatigue. The result is a more secure installation with improved durability, enhanced zero retention, and greater reliability during repeated firing.

Installation is also faster and simpler. Install the included base screws into the slide or mounting plate, lower the optic straight into the cut, then tighten the left and right side locking screws evenly. Because the recoil forces are carried primarily by the structural engagement rather than the screws themselves, the mounting screws function mainly as clamping components and do not require excessive torque.

Short Version (Amazon/eBay Bullet)

NEW ADE Structural Mounting System™ – Features a patented side-clamp mounting architecture that transfers recoil forces through the mounting interface instead of relying solely on mounting screws. This reduces screw stress, improves durability, enhances zero retention, and provides a faster, more secure installation compared to traditional RMR mounting systems.

ADE Structural Mounting System™ — A New Way to Mount a Red Dot

The HELIOS introduces ADE's patented Structural Mounting System™, a fundamentally different approach to mounting a pistol optic.

Traditional red dots depend primarily on two mounting screws to resist recoil. Under repeated firing, those screws absorb the majority of the recoil forces, which can contribute to loosening, shifting, or long-term screw fatigue.

The HELIOS uses a patented structural side-clamp design that redirects recoil forces into the mounting interface itself. Instead of relying on screw shear strength, the optic locks mechanically into the slide or mounting plate, while the screws serve primarily to clamp the optic securely in place.

Benefits include:

  • Patented Structural Mounting System™

  • Recoil forces transferred through the mounting interface

  • Reduced stress on mounting screws

  • Improved long-term zero retention

  • Increased durability under repeated recoil

  • Quick vertical drop-in installation

  • Compatible with standard RMR footprint slides and mounting plates

  • Engineered for a more secure, stable mounting solution than traditional screw-dependent designs

This innovative mounting architecture represents a significant advancement over conventional red dot mounting systems by improving both installation and long-term reliability.

Why Choose the HELIOS?

Unlike conventional enclosed red dots that rely primarily on mounting screws to absorb recoil forces, the HELIOS incorporates ADE's Patent Pending Structural Mounting System™.

The innovative side-clamp engagement transfers recoil forces directly through the mounting interface rather than through the mounting screws themselves.

Benefits include:

• Enhanced recoil resistance

• Reduced stress on mounting screws

• Improved long-term durability

• Better zero retention under heavy recoil

Fully Enclosed Emitter Design

The HELIOS seals the LED emitter inside the optic housing, helping protect the emitter from:

• Dust

• Mud

• Rain

• Snow

• Lint

• Moisture

• Carbon fouling

This enclosed design helps maintain a clean aiming point while reducing maintenance in harsh environments.

6 Selectable Reticle Configurations

Quickly switch between six different reticle configurations to match your shooting style.

Selectable patterns include:

• 2 MOA Precision Dot

• 50 MOA Circle

• Circle-Dot Combination Reticles

Ideal for concealed carry, competition, range shooting, hunting, and tactical applications.

Motion Activated Technology

After approximately 2 minutes of inactivity, the HELIOS automatically enters sleep mode to conserve battery power.

The slightest movement or vibration instantly restores the optic to the previous brightness setting, allowing the sight to remain ready while significantly extending battery life.

Rechargeable Battery System

The HELIOS includes a rechargeable LIR2032 battery and magnetic USB charging cable.

Features include:

• Recharge without removing the optic

• Convenient magnetic charging connection

• Approximately 500 recharge cycles

The HELIOS is designed for use with the included rechargeable LIR2032 battery.

A standard (non-rechargeable) CR2032 battery may also power the optic, although initial brightness may be slightly reduced.

IMPORTANT:

Never attempt to recharge a standard CR2032 battery. Charging a non-rechargeable CR2032 battery may cause battery failure or explosion. If using a CR2032 battery, remove it before connecting the magnetic charging cable.

Mounting Screw Compatibility

Please verify your factory mounting screw specification before purchasing.

Although the HELIOS uses the industry-standard RMR footprint, firearm manufacturers and mounting plate manufacturers use different screw thread sizes and screw lengths.

The HELIOS includes multiple ADE Structural Mounting Screw sets to fit a wide variety of RMR-compatible optic cuts. Before purchasing, compare the screw specification required by your factory optic cut or mounting plate with the included screw sets below.

If your required screw specification is not included, the HELIOS cannot be securely installed and will not be compatible with your firearm or mounting plate.

Included ADE Structural Mounting Screw Sets

• #6-32 Standard (M) — Medium length; fits most standard RMR optic cuts

• #6-32 Standard (S) — Short length; fits most standard RMR optic cuts

• #6-40 Standard (M) — Medium length; fits many RMR-compatible optic cuts

• #6-40 Standard (S) — Short length; fits many RMR-compatible optic cuts

• #6-32 Short (S) — Short-length screws for shallow RMR cuts and select Glock MOS-style applications

    Thoughtful Engineering

Posted by Aaron C on 29th Jun 2026

This isn't just another enclosed red dot copied from everyone else. The structural mounting design is actually different and you can tell someone put real engineering into it. Installation took about ten minutes. I appreciated that multiple screw sets were included because my aftermarket slide needed a different thread than expected. After several range trips the optic has stayed perfectly zeroed. Motion activation works every time, and being able to recharge the battery without removing the optic is incredibly convenient. I also like the top battery access if I ever decide to swap batteries. This has become my new favorite pistol optic.

    Great Closed Emitter Design

Posted by Michael on 28th Jun 2026

The enclosed emitter was the main reason I bought this optic. I hunt and shoot outdoors year-round, so keeping the emitter protected from dirt and moisture is a huge advantage. Visibility remains excellent even after a long day at the range. The optic mounted easily on my RMR slide, and I appreciate ADE's unique side-clamp system that transfers recoil forces through the mounting interface instead of depending only on the screws. My only suggestion would be to offer an FDE version in the future. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Enclosed Is the Way to Go

Posted by Daniel S. Whitaker on 27th Jun 2026

I've owned several open-emitter red dots, and after using the Helios, I don't think I'll go back. Rain, dust, pocket lint, and carbon simply aren't an issue with the enclosed emitter. The window stays much cleaner than my previous optics. The side-clamp design is another feature that sold me. It's different from traditional RMR optics and gives the sight a very solid feel once installed. Zero held perfectly through my first few range sessions. Excellent value for an enclosed optic.

The enclosed emitter is nice, but the attachment system is the standout feature for me. The side-clamp engagement feels more secure than traditional screw-mounted optics, especially after repeated range use.
