Excellent clarity of the Triplet glass lens (three lenses in a single shell) is a top feature of this quality loupe, but it also has features that will provide convenience and security. If you need a quality 10x loupe for a reasonable price, this is it. If you've never used a loupe of this power, you may wish to know that the viewing distance is very short between the loupe and the eye as well as between the loupe and the object viewed. The center of the loupe is the viewing area.

    Excellent

Posted by Customer on 25th Sep 2025

I love these Triplet loops. They don't rust, they don't hold grit, and the case is real leather that's thick and glossy so it's water repellant. I use this 10x loop for lab work to identify shell bead drill holes and just for fun, looking at my cuticles, jewelry, just anything. I used to use a Triplet 10x ten years ago in my geology lab and that's why I bought one for myself. This is actually my second one, purchased as a replacement for one that was misplaced, that's how much I like it. Buy with confidence. I have--twice.

    Now here's one that's a muct buy!

Posted by I am very satisfied on 25th Sep 2025

I've used Triplets for years. This one is very clear from edge to edge. Really clear. It comes with a REAL leather case, looks like it, smells like it, is it! For those of you who don't know, a triplet a more elements in the optics making it clear from one side to the other, no eye strain. A non-triplet is clear in the center but gets fuzzy on is all around the outer edges. Cheaper to make. If you need or want a triplet, this one is a quality instrument! And... least we not forget, a real piece of a cow surrounds this little beauty! Very tight when you first get it, it will only improve with age in like a comfortable pair of shoes.

Great price and quality, compact, low distortion, good workmanship, nice heavy feel, yet extremely portable.

Posted by RLT on 25th Sep 2025

Superb optics, edge to edge, and at a great savings (Chinese manufactured) over a recent model Bausch and Lomb 10x hand lens I replaced with this one. Solid feel, nice case, but I prefer to put in on a neck string anyway. Good hinge action, quite stiff but easily movable, yet stable to pop the lens in and out of the metal holder. Good, even, black paint job over steel case, with black painted aluminum lens housing. Altogether, a terrific tool for antique silver collectors, rock hounds, and geologists. Much more portable, pocket-wise, than the Russian BeLoMo brand, in my opinion. Quality compares extremely well with the classic B&L 7x model I bought 55 years ago in college.

    Handy for the field

Posted by AFM on 25th Sep 2025

This loupe is a nice compact size to toss in my hiking bag. The lens is clear and it is fun to see plant life up close with it (which is why I got it). I also really dig the vintage kind of look of the carry case and the box it came in!

    Nice loupe

Nice item. Especially for someone with glasses I can often look at a ring/gem at a flea market without taking taking my glasses off, which isn't always possible with smaller loupes.

    Super Loupe for the Price!

Posted by Jonathan B. on 25th Sep 2025

I have a Japanese 10X Hastings Triplet Loupe I bought used about 20 years ago, and I have a Belomo 10X Loupe I purchased about 7 years ago. I was looking for some decent, low-priced loupes for a couple of friends, and ran across this LE loupe on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised for the quality versus price. The SE is bright and clear, with a very flat field of focus (all the way to the edge). The field of view is superior to my Japanese and Belomo loupes. It is also very comfortable for me to look through for extended periods. The SE compares nicely with the Belomo, although the Belomo seems to have more resolving power in the very center, it also has more distortion and less field of view. The SE compares nicely with my 20+ year old Japanese Hastings, although the Japanese version seems to be slightly more accurate regarding color (very, very slight). I would also like to add that the build quality for the SE appears to be excellent. The rivets are tight, and the lens is mounted tight. I'll be ordering a couple more of these SE loupes for my friends (as originally intended), but I'll be keeping this first SE for myself! The SE represents a fantastic value considering the price paid.

Perfect magnification (10x) and solid construction with no distortion

Posted by Breanna on 25th Sep 2025

While of course this is not a TRUE triplet (those start at around $30) this is exactly what I was looking for. Something inexpensive enough that it wouldn't be tragic if it got lost (this was a gift for my boyfriend who lost his old one) but that was sturdy (metal construction) and did the job well. Despite being only a single thick lens, there really was not much distortion if any around the edges of the lens. I've never actually used a true triplet, but from what I understand that is the main benefit of them - true and accurate magnification with no distortion around the edges of the lens. The case it came with is a nice little leather pouch. Also, this magnification (10x) is what you're looking for. Anything higher and it will be too powerful. I recommend this product if you're looking for a well functioning, solidly constructed substitute for a true triplet. The price makes it extra worthwhile.

Good Loupe for a Great Price

Posted by Kyle on 25th Sep 2025

For starters, I purchased this loupe as I was building my finance's engagement ring. I am not a professional jeweler, nor do I have a hobby that requires its use on a daily basis. I can say that I carried this loupe with me for several months while shopping diamonds and the fit, finish and function of the loupe maintained its quality throughout the duration of my search. The product arrived in a timely manner (perks of shopping with Amazon), and was exactly as pictured on the product listing. The loupe is made of metal and has a very solid feel to its construction. It is accompanied by a leather storage pouch that holds the loupe when not in use. The leather isn't a high quality material, but lets be honest, we're not buying this product for the carrying pouch. The loupe rotates on a metal hinge. The hinge had a nice resistance to it, holding the loupe in place when rotated out in use and keeping the lens tucked behind the guard when stored. The triplet lenses were very clear to my untrained eye, and certainly served their purpose to satisfy my needs. Overall, I think that this a good product for the money. It certainly was a valuable tool that gave me the ability to inspect the diamonds for myself and not just take the salespersons word for it. (Side Note) I highly encourage anyone who is making the significant investment in a diamond, to do their homework on what to look for in a stone before they go out into the market to begin their search.

I love everything about my Triplet hand lense. Its great for viewing the wild mushrooms I collect. I am amazed at the tiniest bugs crawling on the 'shrooms, that I am unable to see with the naked eye . I look at everything with it now! I love it.

Leather case is a nice bonus!

Posted by JaSonWho? on 24th Sep 2025

The small leather case is a nice bonus! This protects the eye loop in my pocket and looks cool. I added a small leather string to hand the loop around my neck when examining rocks. The eye loop is high quality and works very well.

    much better

Posted by Wanda on 24th Sep 2025

I think I discovered that this 10x's works much better than the 30x's I returned. I can see all the jewelers marks etc with the 10x and focus in immediately. For the average person this is a good product. The case for this one is very flimsy (leather) but serves its purpose. The 30x's case was hard leather and you could close the snap easier.

I have a low visual acuity (20/200) and often struggle to see things both close up and at a distance. over the years, I've used numerous kinds of optical aids for all sorts of situations. This one is powerful enough for anything smaller than average print, provides a clear image, and is very compact and convenient. I'm very pleased with it. :)

Posted by Kay on 24th Sep 2025

This is a very good quality product. A tad smaller than I expected, that would be the only grudge. Otherwise it is very good. Does the job and feels good in hand. I already managed to drop it and it hit side of the table very hard on its way down. Fortunately it was folded when it did it but never the less it was completely undamaged. 5 stars!

    Properly Represented Loupe

Posted by Gerald B. Curtis on 24th Sep 2025

Unlike a competitive offering that represented itself to be a 40X LED illumminating loupe made of "optical glass", and which was cheaper (a dead giveaway that that seller was lying), this loupe is as is represented, and a good value when I compare it to loupes I have had over the years. I will buy it again when I lose it - a risk I run when traversing rough building sites.

    High Quality

Posted by Irwin Electronics on 24th Sep 2025

I bought this to ready very tiny text on parts. It works very well for that task, but I was also able to inspect jewelry to ensure the prongs supporting the diamonds are still in good shape. It would also be useful when shopping for jewelry to inspect the quality of a diamond. There's no limit to the number of uses for a quality loupe. This is metal, has some heft to it, and feels like a solid, quality, product. The image from the glass is sharp, clear, and not distorted.

Posted by A. Sokol on 20th Sep 2025

It takes some practice to use this (or any) jeweler’s loop. The loop and item being examined must be very close to your eye. Good lighting is a must. The 20x power is greater than many and helps. Also it was a good value.

Although this says x20 it's actually x10. This was a bit annoying to discover. However, I must say it's well constructed and reasonably priced. The leather case is also well put together. So far it has served me well in all I use it for. It's really a good by for the money. I'd definitely recommend it.

    In the loupe

Posted by D. Pierce on 16th Sep 2025

I like it! The loupe, that is. It's a new experience seeing things that close. Really close. It took me a little to get used to using the loupe; i didn't know i had to practically stick my eye into the loupe to see what i wanted to see. And getting the light right for lighting up the surface of what i was looking at was a challenge, too. This is because i didn't know what i was doing, and had to learn as i played with it. It didn't take long to get used to using it. It seems adequate for what i want to use it for - checking out jewelry. But would also make some strange looking bugs even stranger, up close, and maybe too personal. Good value for the money; i have no regrets!

    Works fine

    Posted by J on 16th Sep 2025

A little tiny. If you have big hands, maybe you struggle, but I think almost all of them are like that. It really needs a light source in the room, because it is so close to your subject, the subject will invariably be in the shadow of the loupe itself. Easy to carry though, because it's small. Case is good. So, I throw it in my bag with no worries.

Owning this reasonably priced tool is like having a powerful microscope in your pocket. Ideal for mushroom foragers as well as jewelers & anyone else who's interested in the fascinating beauty & complexity of the things around us, even those we see every day & too often take for granted. For mushroom foragers this considerably facilitates identification of gourmet & hallucinogenic species that often have toxic look-alikes. It's a perfect gift for kids who are curious about the world around them & like to examine the details of plants, flowers, foods, fabrics, etc., etc.

    nice basic loupe for price

Posted by Customer on 13th Sep 2025

I was looking for an inexpensive loupe that still had enough magnification to check for counterfeit cards. This definitely provided what I needed and came at a price I was comfortable with. The product seems well enough made and hasn’t caused any problems for me. You can see the printing dots and patterns on cards well enough to assess the authenticity (as long as you know what to look for). I am glad it comes with a leather carrying pouch. The case does a relatively good job of keeping it in place and the fastener holds tight. There are a couple of aspects that I wouldn’t mind being improved. The case feels a bit flimsy and not very rigid, which would be nice to better protect the loupe. I do wish that there was some kind of light since I often have trouble getting enough light while using it bent over a table. I’ve also thought about getting one with slightly higher magnification to switch back and forth between. Overall, it’s a basic item but provided what I needed at a really good price. If you want something more professional you may have to look for one that is higher end.
