Model RD3-028+HM23
This combo includes an ADE Ares RD3-028 red dot sight, a mounting plate for the SAR USA CM9 pistol, and a standard picatinny mount. The included plate is only compatible with the CM9 model and does not fit other SAR models such as SAR 9, ST9, or K2.
ADE RD3-028 Ares Pro is equipped with the Motion Activated System. While the Ares Pro is turned on, the red dot illumination goes to sleep after five minutes of inactivity, but when any motion or vibration is detected, it instantly switches on illumination at the previous brightness setting. Users also have the option to manually turn the red dot power off to disable the Motion Activated System.
The overall length is longer than traditional red dot, therefore it only fits on the optic plate that sits ABOVE the slide( typically the plates replacing the rear sight). It does not sit into pistol slide with a milled optic cut because those cuts are typically made for red dots with standard length. The dimension for Ares is 1.84" length x1.30" width x1.15" height
ADE RD3-028 Ares Pro is designed with a removeable Weather Shield that protects the sight from moisture and provides a clearer sight picture during inclement weather. Once installed the weather shield will protect from rain or snow and will stay attached even when mounted on a handgun.Top load System, no need to Remove the sight to change the Battery. Comes with Red dot, tool, removeable picatinny plate with two screws, cover, lens cloth and instruction manual. If you're not seeing a perfect round dot but instead observe a splashed dot, half-moon shape, multi-dot, or starburst, there's a high probability (99%) that you might have astigmatism without being aware of it. What you perceive is likely a small reflection of the LED light on the lens. A quick and simple way to confirm this is by using your cellphone to take a photo of the dot. If the photo shows a circular dot, you've essentially diagnosed yourself with astigmatism.

Works well after practice
The optic works well overall and the mounting plate fits the CM9 as described. My only issue at first was learning to consistently find the dot when presenting the pistol. That’s more of a training adjustment than a problem with the optic itself, but it took some practice before it felt natural. Once I got used to it, the sight performed reliably and held zero during range sessions.

Everything you need in one package
I like that this product comes with both the optic and the mounting plate designed for the CM9. That makes installation simple because you don’t need to hunt for compatible parts. The optic itself performs very well and the mounting plate feels solid. Overall it’s a convenient and well thought out package.

Top-load battery is convenient
Another thing I appreciate about this optic is the top-loading battery design. Unlike some other optics, I don’t have to remove the entire sight to replace the battery. That means I don’t lose my zero when changing batteries. It’s a small detail but it makes maintenance much easier.

Great performance without spending a fortune
I was considering several more expensive red dots before deciding to try this one. After using it for a few weeks I’m glad I did. The dot is bright, the glass is clear, and the motion activation works exactly as advertised. It’s a very capable optic that performs well without costing as much as premium brands.

Reliable even after many rounds
I’ve put several hundred rounds through my CM9 since installing this optic and it has held zero perfectly. The mounting plate stays firmly attached and the optic doesn’t shift at all. The adjustments were easy to make when I first zeroed it, and I haven’t needed to touch them since.

Fast target acquisition
After installing this optic on my CM9, I noticed immediately how much faster target acquisition became compared to using iron sights. The red dot is bright and easy to track during rapid fire drills. The optic window is also a good size, which makes it easy to pick up the dot quickly when presenting the pistol.

Great for outdoor shooting
One of the features I really like about this optic is the removable weather shield. I shoot outdoors quite often and sometimes deal with rain or dusty conditions. The shield helps protect the lens and keeps the sight picture clear. Combined with the shake-awake system, this optic has been extremely convenient to use.

Very impressed with the build quality
The RD3-028 Ares feels very solid for a pistol optic in this price range. The body appears well machined and the controls are easy to operate. The dot is crisp and the brightness settings allow you to adjust it depending on lighting conditions. The mounting plate also fits my CM9 perfectly, which made installation very easy.

Perfect upgrade for my carry pistol
I installed this optic on my SAR CM9 mainly for range practice and defensive training. The installation process was simple and took less than ten minutes. Once mounted, the optic sat securely on the plate with no movement at all. The dot is bright and easy to see even on sunny days at the range. After a few hundred rounds the optic still holds zero perfectly.

Great value optic package
For the price, this optic and mounting plate combo offers excellent value. The plate fits the CM9 perfectly and the optic feels well built. The aluminum housing looks durable and the glass clarity is better than I expected. I was able to zero the sight within a few magazines at the range and it has remained stable since then. The included weather shield is also a thoughtful addition.

Always ready when you pick up the pistol
The motion activated system on this optic is one of my favorite features. I mounted it on my CM9 using the included HM23 plate and it has been working flawlessly. When the pistol sits in the safe the dot automatically goes into sleep mode, but as soon as I pick it up the dot turns back on instantly. That makes it very convenient because I don’t have to worry about turning it on manually every time. The sight picture is clear and the 3.5 MOA dot is a good size for both accuracy and quick target acquisition.

Perfect fit and impressive performance
I purchased the RD3-028 Ares with the HM23 mounting plate for my SAR USA CM9 and it turned out to be an excellent upgrade. Installation was straightforward because the mounting plate is designed specifically for the CM9, so everything lined up perfectly with the rear sight replacement mount. The red dot itself is bright and crisp, and the motion activated system works surprisingly well. After sitting still for a few minutes the dot goes to sleep, and the moment I move the pistol it wakes up instantly at the same brightness level. I’ve taken it to the range several times and it has held zero perfectly. The removable weather shield is also a nice feature for outdoor shooting.
