ADE Advanced Optics RD3-041 ORION Enclosed Multi-Reticle Red Dot Sight

The ADE Advanced Optics RD3-041 ORION is a rugged, fully enclosed red dot sight featuring four selectable reticles, motion-activated illumination, a large viewing window, and two included mounting heights. Designed for compatible Picatinny and Weaver rails, the ORION combines a wide field of view with dependable performance in wet, dusty, and demanding outdoor conditions.

Its enclosed-emitter construction helps prevent rain, dust, dirt, and debris from obstructing the LED emitter. The durable T7075 aluminum housing, multi-coated glass, IP55 protection rating, and 1,000G vibration resistance provide reliable protection for the optic’s internal components.

The ORION includes both a low-profile mount and an absolute co-witness mount, allowing users to choose the mounting height best suited to their compatible setup.

Fully Enclosed Emitter Design

Unlike a traditional open-emitter red dot sight, the ORION places its LED emitter inside a sealed optical housing. This protected design helps keep dust, moisture, dirt, and airborne debris from blocking the emitter or interfering with reticle visibility.

The enclosed construction also reduces the need to clean around an exposed emitter, making the ORION well suited for use in rain, dust, and other challenging outdoor environments.

Four Selectable Red Reticles

The RD3-041 ORION offers four selectable red reticle patterns:

• Precision dot

• Circle with diamond center

• Precision diamond

• Chevron

Users can select the reticle that best matches their preference and intended application. The precision dot offers a clean and uncluttered aiming point, while the circle and shaped reticles provide larger visual references for faster acquisition at closer distances.

Reticle selection and brightness adjustments are controlled through the conveniently positioned side buttons.

Motion-Activated Illumination

The ORION features motion-activated illumination to conserve battery power while keeping the optic ready for use.

After a period of inactivity, the reticle automatically enters sleep mode. As soon as motion or vibration is detected, the reticle immediately reactivates at the previously selected brightness and reticle settings.

This automatic sleep-and-wake system reduces unnecessary battery consumption during storage and between periods of use.

Large 1.42 × 0.94-Inch Viewing Window

The ORION features an oversized viewing window measuring approximately 1.42 inches wide by 0.94 inches high, equivalent to approximately 36 × 24 millimeters.

The large window provides a wide, unobstructed field of view and makes the illuminated reticle easier to locate from different viewing positions. Combined with its true 1X magnification, the ORION delivers a natural sight picture with excellent surrounding-area awareness.

Multi-Coated Optical Glass

The optical window is manufactured with multi-coated glass to support light transmission, image clarity, and a clean sight picture.

Depending on the viewing angle and surrounding lighting, the exterior lens surface may show green, amber, or red reflections. These reflections are a normal result of the optical coating and do not indicate a defect.

Rugged T7075 Aluminum Housing

The ORION housing is manufactured from strong T7075 aluminum, providing dependable protection without unnecessary weight or bulk.

Its durable construction helps protect the enclosed optical system and internal electronic components during transportation, regular range use, and outdoor operation.

IP55 Environmental Protection

The RD3-041 ORION carries an IP55 environmental protection rating. Its enclosed housing is designed to resist dust and water exposure, helping the optic maintain reliable performance in demanding outdoor conditions.

The IP55 rating does not mean the optic is designed for prolonged underwater submersion.

1,000G Vibration Resistance

The ORION is rated to withstand vibration forces of up to 1,000G. Its rugged housing and reinforced internal construction are engineered for repeated vibration and demanding operating conditions.

Wide Operating Temperature Range

The RD3-041 is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from approximately:

CR2032 Battery and Extended Runtime

The ORION is powered by one commonly available CR2032 lithium battery and can provide up to 23,000 hours of operating time under suitable conditions.

Actual battery life will vary according to brightness level, frequency of activation, motion activity, temperature, storage conditions, and battery quality. The automatic sleep-and-wake system helps extend battery life by turning off the illumination during periods of inactivity.

Two Mounting Heights Included

The RD3-041 ORION includes two mounting options:

• Low-profile Picatinny/Weaver mount

• Absolute co-witness Picatinny mount

The low-profile mount positions the optic closer to the rail, while the co-witness mount raises it to an absolute co-witness height for compatible setups.
