Unprofessional installation such as improper torque(12in/lb) will result in screw loose, not holding zero, damage to the firearm/optic and personal injury.

Good Optic, Installation Takes Patience
The red dot performs well once everything is installed. The glass is clear, brightness is sufficient even on sunny days, and the motion awake feature works exactly like it should. The installation was more involved than I anticipated because the rear sight must be removed and proper screw torque is important. Beginners should either watch a few installation videos first or have a professional install it. Once mounted correctly, though, it's a dependable optic and has maintained zero through several hundred rounds.

Reliable After 1,200 Rounds
I've now passed 1,200 rounds with this optic mounted on my Ruger American Compact. The zero hasn't moved, brightness adjustment is simple, and the motion activated system has never failed to wake up. The top-loading battery compartment is one of my favorite features because I don't have to remove the sight every time the battery needs replacing. The multi-coated lens provides a surprisingly clear sight picture with very little glare, even during bright afternoon shooting. The aluminum housing has also held up well despite repeated holster practice. If you're looking for a complete Ruger American optic solution without spending premium-brand money, I highly recommend this setup.

Didn't Realize It Required Rear Sight Removal
The optic itself seems well made, but I mistakenly assumed this would mount directly without modifying anything. After opening the package I realized the factory rear sight has to be removed and the slide partially disassembled. That's my fault for not reading carefully enough. If you're comfortable doing that or using a gunsmith, it should work fine. I ended up returning it because I wanted something easier.

Much Better Than I Expected
I've owned several budget pistol optics over the years, and this one honestly surprised me. The glass is clear with very little tint, the controls are easy to operate, and I really appreciate the three reticle choices. Switching between the dot, circle, and circle-dot doesn't require re-zeroing, which is something many people overlook. The included Ruger American mounting plate fits nicely after removing the factory rear sight. I followed the recommended torque specifications and used blue thread locker. After roughly 900 rounds, the optic hasn't shifted at all. The shake awake feature wakes instantly every time I present the pistol. For the price, this is one of the better complete optic packages I've purchased.

Excellent Once Installed
The optic itself deserves five stars. Bright reticle, solid construction, and the motion activation saves battery life. The reason I'm giving four stars is because replacing the rear sight isn't as simple as mounting an optic on an optics-ready slide. If you've never drifted a rear sight before, consider having a gunsmith install it. Once mounted correctly, though, it's been flawless through several range sessions.

Great Value Complete Package
Instead of buying a plate and optic separately, I picked up this combo and couldn't be happier. Everything needed was included except thread locker. The 2 MOA dot is crisp, but I ended up using the circle-dot reticle for faster target acquisition. Installation took about 20 minutes. Just remember to torque the screws correctly. Excellent setup for anyone with a Ruger American pistol.

Perfect Fit for My Ruger American
I had been wanting to add a red dot to my Ruger American without sending the slide out for machining. This kit solved the problem. The mounting plate fit perfectly after removing the factory rear sight, and the included Delta PRO optic was already attached to the Picatinny base. The motion awake feature works exactly as advertised and the top-loading battery means I never have to remove the optic to replace it. About 600 rounds so far and it has stayed zeroed.
