ADE RD3-012 Shake Awake Red Dot + Optic Mounting Plate for SAR USA- SAR9, SAR9 CX, SAR 9 Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pistol

I've been running this on my SAR9 METE for weekly range trips and it's been dependable so far. The motion activation works every time and battery life seems solid. The dot is easy to acquire and makes follow-up shots noticeably faster compared to irons alone. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you own a compatible SAR pistol.

This was my mistake for not reading carefully enough. I have the newer SAR9 Gen 3 optic-ready version and this plate does not fit that model. The optic itself looked good quality, but I had to return it because of compatibility. Seller responded quickly though.

I usually don't leave reviews, but this optic earned one. I bought the RD3-012 combo for my SAR9 because I didn't want to spend Holosun money on a range pistol. Expectations were moderate, but after several months of use I'm genuinely impressed. Installation was straightforward. I used blue Loctite and torqued everything carefully. The optic sat low enough for a comfortable presentation and co-witness feel. The glass is surprisingly decent for the price range and the dot remains visible even on bright summer days here in Texas. I've now crossed roughly the 1,000-round mark using mostly 124gr FMJ with some defensive hollow points mixed in. Zero has stayed consistent and the shake awake still functions flawlessly. I accidentally bumped the optic pretty hard against a barricade during a class and expected it to shift, but it stayed dead on. For shooters wanting to try a pistol red dot without spending several hundred dollars, this is honestly one of the better entry points I've found for the SAR platform.

Not my first ADE optic and probably won't be my last. Affordable setup that actually works. The shake awake saves battery life and the plate fit my SAR9 CX without issue.

I have an older SAR9 Gen 1 and finding optics support for these pistols isn't always easy. This combo solved everything in one package. No gunsmith fitting needed on mine. The 6 MOA dot is quick to pick up during target transitions. I mainly shoot steel and practice defensive drills, and this optic has made the pistol much more enjoyable. The housing feels sturdy and the buttons have a positive click. Shipping from Oregon to Arizona was also surprisingly fast.

The optic itself is actually pretty nice once installed. My only complaint is the instructions were a little vague for someone newer to pistol optics. I had to watch a video online to confirm torque and battery orientation. After getting everything mounted correctly, the sight has worked well and stayed zeroed. The glass is clearer than I expected at this price point.

I was debating between this and a much more expensive optic setup, but decided to give ADE a shot after seeing a few YouTube reviews. Honestly surprised how solid this setup feels. The mounting plate lined up perfectly with my SAR9T and the screws fit correctly without needing modification. The dot is crisp to my eyes and the shake awake feature works exactly as advertised. I left it sitting overnight and the optic instantly woke up the next morning when I picked the pistol up. I also like that the package includes the picatinny mount because I temporarily tested it on a PCC as well. I've put around 700 rounds through the pistol so far and it has held zero without issues. For range use, home defense, and general training this has been a very good value.

Mounted this on my SAR9C Gen 2 in about 20 minutes. The plate fit perfectly and the dot zeroed faster than expected. Shake awake works great and the brightness is easy to adjust even outdoors. Really impressed for the price.

No complaints so far. Mounted easily and zeroed quickly. The green reticle is bright and crisp. I also like that the buttons are easy to access without being overly sensitive.

I’ve been wanting to try a multi-reticle pistol optic without spending several hundred dollars. This ADE setup turned out to be a really good choice for my SAR9. The ability to switch between dot, circle, and circle-dot reticles is more useful than I expected. For close-range drills I prefer the larger circle reticle, while the single dot works great for accuracy shooting at longer distances. Installation was simple with the included mounting plate. Everything fit correctly and lined up well on my slide. After roughly 600 rounds the optic is still holding zero without issues. The side battery tray is also a huge plus because I don’t have to remove the optic during battery changes. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.
