Very nice scope
This riflescope is very clear and sharp. At this price point it is unbelievably crisp and sharp. I have done some plinking with my .22 and it has really fit the bill.
-
Looks good. Great optics!
Bought this for my 308 bolt action rifle. Will update my review after I get it out to the range. Looks good so far.
-
Working great so far.
Using on an .223 AR. Working great so far. Wanted a basic, decent quality scope, with simple reticle. Side focus is nice. Clarity is good. After some less than gentle handling, the scope appears to retain zero. Very happy so far.
-
Heavy
It's heavy but nice for the price
-
20% heavier than advertised
I have the non-illuminated mil-dot version. I wanted it for its relatively light weight advertised at 16oz, but it feels heavier than expected and weighs 19.3oz on my scale. Seems like a good value otherwise, but the extra heft makes it less ideal for the smaller rifle I wanted to mount it on.
-
maybe better!
Very high quality scope and clear glass for the money. Definitely on par with Vortex, maybe better!
-
Good scope for the money
Love the scope
-
Get one you won't regret it. Great scope.
Best scope under 200 by far. Very good glass and great tracking. Only complaint is the side parralex is hard to turn.
-
Nice scope
Purchased three scopes for friends and family and they all really like the scope.
-
Nice scope!
Easy setup and I’m shootings bullseye’s!
-
Great buy!
Great product! Unsurpassed customer service.
-
Quality in form and function.
Extremely impressed with this scope. The glas is crystal clear. Adjustments are very easy to make. This a a quality scope at an affordable price! The only con. Is that it's very difficult to find a throw lever for the focus. It's easy to turn by hand. Compared to others I have. You almost have to grip it like a wrench to turn it. This on is very smooth! Excellent eye relief as well. I would recommend this scope to anyone that's on a budget but needs a good scope.
-
Very nice
I haven't put it through the gauntlet just yet but initial thoughts are this thing is awesome. Very clear, seems pretty durable, and looks good. Cant wait for the next deer season.
-
Value for the $$$
Super clear glass, I put it on my 6.5 GRN build. Lifetime warranty too
-
Best Kept Secret ...
Athlon scope are awesome , own four , best kept secret in the optics world , AWESOME..
-
works
Great scope for the money and as good as higher end scopes.
-
Great value, no problems with alignment and recoil related issues.
The optics are clear and AO is very precise from low to high range. Eye relief is excellent. Solidly built. Shipped in a secure OEM box. Mounted the scope on a Diana 430L. No problems so far with recoil, over 600 rounds.
-
Good price
Appears to be of good quality clear glass
-
Pretty good scope for the money
Great clarity, great eye relief, seems to be made pretty quality even though it is made in China I can't complain about it to much, seems to be a pretty good scope and holds zero so far on my 6.5 creedmoor.
-
Great value
I’d never heard of ADE but after watching a YouTube review I gave it a try. Really outstanding scope for the money and it is standing up well on my spring air rifle which is notorious for tearing up the toughest of scopes!
-
Great so far.
Very surprised this scope is amazing very well built and crystal clear and lifetime warranty and no product registration. I have other scopes Burris being one 500.00 + and it is just as clear. Have yet to mount as rifle is on order and will update with photos.
-
Fantastic Value
The 40 to bump up from the Neos line is absolutely worth it. The glass is clear and the 4x zoom range gives it a nice range of utility. I personally think the Talos line is Athlon's best value for the money. These Talos have good eye relief, our very clear, and have a side parallax adjustment.
-
Good value for the price. Revommended.
Fairly clear compared to Nikon EFR 3-9x40, but very clear for the price point. A little hazy at 12x in bright sunlight, probably could use better lens coating but very usable. Overall very satisfied , worth the price. Would buy it again.
-
Grate hunting scope!
ADE scopes are the Best Buy for your money. This 3-12 is the fourth Athlon I've bought. Yes, these more bargain priced models are made in Chinay! So what they're worth three times what cost! The 2-12 is even better. The 8-34 was phenomenal!
-
4 stars only
4 stars only since the windage and elevation click worse than a $30 scope.. not what im expecring from a brand like athlon.. or what? I just got a bad one? I don't know.. but would still buy their scopes not just the sub 200$ models..
-
I sold my vortex to buy another ADE
These scopes are great for the budget minded. I have several different models. Each serves its purpose well for the price. Have zero complaints with this talos 3-12. Put it on a 200 yard gun and has been perfect for intended use. Had an issue with another athlon product (binos) and the warranty replaced, not repaired, with a new set within a weeks turn around.
-
Nice scope
This is a really nice scope for the money. It is mounted on a 10-22 target and it wrings out every bit of accuracy and is not too big or small for a rifle this size. The parallax adjustment is a bit stiff but not so much to be a problem and the power ring is about right. Most importantly the lenses are very clear and remain clear all settings.
-
Overall pretty good for beginners but tracking a little off
Pretty good for the money... Very crisp sounding turrets, can zero, pretty clear glass... The difference with this and a high end glass is the tracking... Change elevation and reticle starts to drift somewhat right or left at high moa Change windage and reticle drifts somewhat up or down...
-
Great scope for the price
I would highly recommend this scope, very clear, good illumination, great for the value
-
Not 100% happy with these optics.
I have a Talos 3-12x40 on my 20" target AR, and a Talos 4-16x40 on my Howa 6.5x55. I am mostly happy with both optics, but there are a couple concerns. The turrets track okay, but when you get near the end of the elevation adjustments the optic is a little bit unpredictable. I was shooting at extended ranges between 600 and 1000 using both optics and experienced a few strange inconsistent adjustments despite the turret not being maxed out yet. Also, the illuminated reticles are a little brighter on the right hand side of the crosshairs, so they're sort of uneven when lit up. Glass clarity is very good, and the etched reticles are very crisp (when not illuminated).
-
Great for a low quality Chinese made scope
Should never be any damage to the turret slot on a new scope. The scope appeared to be newly packaged so it is difficult to tell when the damage occurred. I have never seen damage like this on new scopes, so possibly this is refurbished. The reticle is clear but the left arm seems to lean down slightly toward the edge of the glass. The optic seems to have a very clear sweet spot but does not seem as clear near the edges. I'm sure this will work fine on an air gun or 22LR.

Replacement received
First of all I really love Athlon Scopes. This won't stop me from ordering again. It looks as if I may have received somebody else's return missing the battery the booklet was not in the package and rubber bands just laying in the box and also would not focus at long range. A replacement and return has already been initiated. UPDATE.... New scope received and this one is a brand new one NOT someone's return. I really like Athlon Scopes this scope gets 5 stars.............
-
Doesnt fit a long action was kinda disappointed.
Doesnt fit a long action was kinda disappointed. I put it on a short action. very nice scope just wish it had a long enough tube to use on a long action rifle.
-
Quality scope at a good price
I have this mounted on Benjamin armada in .25 cal. Sighting in was a breeze, glass is clear with a crisp reticle. So far so good, like all my other Athlon scopes, I'm really pleased with them all.
-
Wonderful Scope.
I originally purchased the Vortex Crossfire 2 3-9x40 for the same price as this Athlon. Thing is this Athlon leaves that Vortex sitting in the dust at the same price. I was not impressed in the least with the Vortex. The turrets sucked. Flat out sucked, in that they were super mushy and inaudible clicks. Specially the elevation turret. The one thing I was impressed with on the Vortex was the eye relief, it was very forgiving. The ade, very nice turrets, you can both feel and hear them and know exactly where you are without even looking at them. The glass is very clear @ this price point and beyond. The Parallax adj at this price point is phenomenal to say the least. Yes it is a little stiff to turn but that's a great feature and NOT a downside in my eyes on a hunting scope. Would not want to rub it on a tree and turn it. The magnification adjustment is not as stiff as the parallax but feels perfect for me. I have not tracked the turrets a lot but I did do a simple 15 click box test and it returned to zero every time for 3-4 times. Overall the scope is built like a tank and I am very happy with it.
-
Great glass, nice features- awesome price!
I can’t think of a better scope for the money. It’s not uncommon for the optics to approach or even exceed the price of what you are mounting it on now days. I do own two scopes that are better than this one, at a similar size and magnification but I also paid WAY more for them- this one is more than adequate with coated lenses and a super clear and crisp view. It took me a short time to sight in, and holds zero well. The “tracking” when you turn the turrets x number of clicks up, down, left, or right is good but off about a 1/4 mil at 50 yards.....which in my opinion is OUTSTANDING for a scope in this price range and I have seen worse for more expensive scopes made by Luepold and Vortex- albeit they were older models but still.... The removal option on the turrets to allow you to zero the shots and set the point of impact at a given distance, then place the dials on the turrets to read “zero” is nice! Side focus on a scope at less than $300, with lenses this clear, and a mildot reticule is hard to find. I would definitely recommend this scope to anyone looking for a clear view at a great price, that also offers a few other nice features.....A+

Excellent glass for the money
Excellent glass for the money. Great power range. Clear optics. Power ring and turrets neither too hard nor too easy to operate. I put it on a bolt action 308 hunting rifle. I used medium rings. There were some problems mounting it. The tube was too short to mount on the 1 pc. picatinny type base I was using so I had to modify the forward end of the base to clear the ocular bell. Then the nitrogen purge/fill tube below the turrets is very large and prevented the scope from being mounted because of the mounting slots. So I got out my dremel again to modify that. Finally the knob on the power ring was interfering with the bolt handle so I filed down the knob as well as the bolt handle until it cleared. If you have no experience making these sort of modifications I would advise taking the rig to a gunsmith. After I completed the modifications I was very happy. I zeroed at 200 yds. (about min. of angle groups) and will use the mil dots if longer shots are necessary. I am happy with my new pseudo tactical bolt action 308.
-
Better than Vortex? Yes it is!!!
I recently purchased this scope to mount on my Tikka t1x in .22lr. The glass is clear and the eye relief is great. I typically shoot this gun at 50 and 100 yards and I can see bullet holes easy at 12 power. After 2000 round it holds zero perfectly. The mildot reticle is great and very helpful for referencing the drop of the .22lr rounds. Parallax works great also. I have a few Vortex diamondback tactical rifle scopes and a couple other Athlon scopes and for the money spent I can say the Athlon scopes are better both in glass and overall quality of the scopes build construction. I know a lot of people that compare these two brand since they are close in price and in features but I can say that if your looking at both Id buy the Athlon. In my opinion it just nicer in every way and i mean in glass, tracking, parallax adjustment, turrets, and overall build construction. I hope this helps someone.

Outstanding Performance
These scopes are the best! Price, quality and toughness I have 11 of them!
-
Great scope
In this price range, I really doubt you could find anything better! Clear glass, very good light transmission, precise adjustments, tracks well, just a great all-around scope! I actually like it better than the Vortex Crossfire II it replaced. The only thing missing is the "accurange" hatch marks, but I didn't really use them on my 17 WSM "walking rifle" anyway. I seldom get shots beyond 200 yards with it, and the WSM shoots so flat out to that range it's easy to "guestimate" holdover. I'm going to buy more Athlon optics for sure!

Clear glass and nice reticle. The scope weighs 587 grams or 20
Clear glass and nice reticle. The scope weighs 587 grams or 20.5 oz. 25 % more than advertised. The parallax adjustment knob is very difficult to turn and would be very difficult to use in the field. The illumination portion of the reticle is shadowed to one side regardless of the setting and does not look correct.
-
Heavy Scope
Weight is greater than advertised. A bit dark. Parallax knob is hard to turn. Parallax range markings are off by quite a bit. Gonna keep it--but just barely.
-

Incredible scope for the money.
Took this scope to 1000+. Shot a .375" group with it. Had a tiny bit of trouble with the wind turret. The only problem I can come up with is the weight.
