The ACCU Wedg eliminates play between the upper and lower and prevents play from developing in those rifles that don't currently have any perceptible play.

This is perhaps the least expensive of all the 223 rifle many potential accessories, yet it adds immeasurably to the security and surety of the most basic element of any weapon. Installation is a breeze.

One needs only proceed through the first step of a normal field stripping in order to install the ACCU-Wedge.

It fits easily into the slot just below the assembly pin.

The ACCU-Wedge fits between the receiver and the trigger assembly housing and completely eliminates any play and "rattle". you always can cut the bottom a little for make it fit batter for your rifle.

Kleen Bore Accu-Wedge: It works, sort of...

Posted by Legacy Reviewer on 28th Aug 2025

The Accu-Wedge does not "eliminate" play between AR uppers and lowers (depending on the severity) nor is it a drop in modification. I had to trim the part in order to get it to work in an M&P 15. The play between the upper and lower has been reduced, but assembly and takedown require a lot of effort and care, meaning physical strength, ensuring that the wedge is properly in place, and more importantly, time: It takes at least a minute to reassemble the rifle. *Bottom line: it's a good fix for recreational shooters, if your safety/life may depend on your rifle, take a pass. Pros: Reduces "slop" Cons: Requires modification, relatively expensive

Just what I needed to tighten up my AR.

Posted by Legac on 28th Aug 2025

These are must haves when building your on AR Platform rifles. I'd been looking at all the gun parts vendors and all these items were backordered for ever! Thanks Optics Plantet for keeping much needed parts/items in stock!! Pros: Optics Planet has this item in stock when others had it on backorder! Cons: Shipping was a little slow.

    Limited Fix...

Works well as a recoil buffer. Does not tighten receivers, receivers can still twist side to side so the play remains. Pros: Easy To Install Cons: Does Not Tighten Rock Solid

    No more rattle

Posted by Big Daddy on 27th Aug 2025

I bought the Accu-Wedge after reading an article on ways to improve your shot grouping. I had never considered the fit between the upper and lower to be an issue. I did check out the fit between the two and found there was a bit of a rattle prior to installing the Accu-Wedge. Now there's just no more room and it's a tight fit. Installation by the way was very simple. Remove a pin, slip in the Accu-Wedge, put the pin back in place. I will be taking my AR-15 to the range soon to see for my self if my groupings become tighter.

Needed to fit for PSA AR 15 Receivers

Posted by King Donko Punchstania, on 27th Aug 2025

I wanted to eliminate the wobble in my very top heavy PSA AR15 18' heavy. I thought the accu-wedge would fix it, but out of the box the accu-wedge was a quarter of an inch too tall for my PSA AR 15 upper and lower receiver set. I ended up spending too much time fitting the accu-wedge to my PSA receiver. Once I fitted the accu-wedge it did not completely eliminate, but reduced receiver wobble. My only advice is to expect to custom fit the accu-wedge to you receiver combo, when you do; take your time and incrementally take off material.

    Works as advertised

Posted by johns, on 27th Aug 2025

Installation was quick and very easy. Works as advertised and completely eliminates any play between the upper and lower AR15 receivers. The gun "feels" better once installed. It does make the operation of the takedown pins more difficult.

    Simple and Effective

Posted by Simple and Effective on 27th Aug 2025

I bought this to rake out the rattle between my upper and lower. This will not eliminate all of the play nor make it a match-grade fit, but does make a notable improvement in the feel. As one would expect, it makes the rear takedown pin a bit more difficult to remove, but not too bad. In short, the upper/lower will still have some play in rocking back and forth, but no rattle. If you want to completely eliminate the play, get the JP Tension Pins.....10 times as expensive, and you need tools to remove, but they take out 100$ of the slop.

    Well worth the money!

Posted by KG, on 27th Aug 2025

This is a must have for any AR platform rifle. It's extremely easy to install, check out all of the install videos on youtube. It's really amazing that such an inexpensive purchase can have such a big affect on the rifle, it now feels more solid, and 'not cheap.' I highly recommend buying several of these pieces.

Accuwedge - worth it if your ocd

Posted by by Chris on 27th Aug 2025

This little guy does just what hes supposed to do. I have an anderson upper and lower and while snug there is a tiny bit of play in the connection. I dropped this guy in and it completely elliminated the play. The only issue I have is that I could previously remove the receiver ping with my fingers but with this guy installed it requires tools.

Posted by Dillon Mitchell, on 27th Aug 2025

Took every bit of play out of the upper and lower, it was pretty much night and day. Even with the action of the BCG to the buffer system it was solid and felt even more smooth than I could have asked for.

Works perfectly. Idk how someone could have an issue when using this. If you need to shave a bit off then it ia very easy but really it is best to just put as much pressure as is needed to get the receiver pin in through the holes.

    Works like it suppose to.

Posted by cuyyang on 26th Aug 2025

This product works as it suppose to. The wedge help the gap between the upper and lower of my AR build. I did trim the bottom of one of the wedges just so I can easy remove the rear take down pin. If you choose to not trim a little you may have a hard time taking the rear take down pin out as the wedge locks everything up pretty snug. Works great and no issues after a few hundreds rounds, and if the is a problem, you have three when you order so you are good.

    AR Accu Wedge

Posted by nick, on 26th Aug 2025

This simple compressible device when placed in an AR action eliminated the slop due to machining tolerances between manufacturers lower and upper assemblies. It was somewhat difficult to close the action with the "Accu Wedge" in place but that equates to less movement. An inexpensive alternative to replacing either a complete upper or lower assembly.

    Tried and True

    Posted by AC96, on 26th Aug 2025

If you don't like the movement between your upper and lower, and your lower don't have a set screw, then the accu wedge is for you. I've used them for years. It's a simple product that works and it's very durable. I keep a few on hand and after a year or so I switch it out for a new one. For the price, plus the effectiveness of the product, it's a no brainer. I would/have recommended the accu wedge to those with a need.

    Good idea!

Posted by Newty, on 26th Aug 2025

Got a Ruger AR 556 and I couldn't get my upper and lower to close. I tried cutting them down to size and it was just to tight, plus my upper and lower where tight to begin with and really don't need it, might work good on a loose setup. Says 3pk and I got shipped 5 so that's a plus!

    works great

    Posted by massive77, on 26th Aug 2025

fits great! may need to cut some off the bottom with razor blade to get the upper and lower together with take down pins. shave off little of the rubber at a time till the fitment is to your liking. make upper and lower nice and snug with no play at all once modify it your setup.

    Benji Beedle,

Posted by Very inexpensive fix on 26th Aug 2025

These little guys do a great job of getting that tiny bit of play out from between the upper and lower receiver. I don't like rattles and loose fitting parts and these wedges tighten up your AR's enough to make a $500 rifle feel like a $1000 rifle. They do not work on all lower receivers however. It fits milspec aluminum lowers with no problem. Some polymer lowers and upper receivers that have thick lugs have to close of a tolerance. And because of that close tolerance, you probably don't need a wedge anyway.

Works just like the accu-wedge, better value though. Tightens up the two receiver halves. Definitely worth the few dollars they cost. If you have a little movement, this should take care of it or mostly take care if it.

I bought this for my DDM4V11. The weapon is already tight and snug. I bought this because I purchased a Ghost 300BLK upper and noticed a slight wiggle. Now my 300BLK setup is nice and tight. Well worth the buy and comes with spares for any future rifle purchases.

This wedge is a little tight, but it worked excellent to sure up the rattling between the upper and lower where they hinge together. If your AR receiver has a rattle, this wedge will definitely take out all the loose play. It also helps some with accuracy.

Posted by If you have a rattle on 26th Aug 2025

If there's play between your upper and lower these will help. It go in you lower in the fire control box under the rear take down pin. It makes assembly and disassembly a littler harder but that is remedied with pressure to the upper pressing it to the lower while you pop out the rear take down pin

    Accu wedge

Posted by Just some dude., on 25th Aug 2025

Accu wedge remedies the loose or slop from lower to upper receiver. Seems to be a little tight when first installed, but will break in and retain memory. Deffinately recommended if your concerned with shake or play in your receiver fit.

Takes the wiggle and rattle out.

Posted by Andrew J, on 25th Aug 2025

Works as intended. At received matches description. Some minor trimming may be needed to allow takedown pin to move freely as it applies pressure between upper and lower. Trimming can be done with a knife or sharp scissors

    Great Product

Posted by Chad, on 25th Aug 2025

Prior to adding the wedges, my rifle was really loos and my groups were not as tight as I wanted. After adding the wedge into the rifle, I have able to achieve 1/2 in groups. In my case I did not have to trim it either, it dropped in.!It’s been a great addition!

    Tightens the rifle up nicely

    Posted by Jrob48, V on 25th Aug 2025

I ordered a pack of these and received 5 wedges. They make some receivers almost too tight to close buy could easily be trimmed up. The first pack had 5 and I ordered another for some friends. The second order only came with 3 wedges. I contacted OP and they advised it should have 5. They made it right and shipped another pack also only containing 3 wedges. I would recommend these if your lower receiver doesn't have a set screw. Just beware, it will probably contain 3 wedges.

As many have mentioned I did have to trim it down a hair but it has sured up that tiny bit of play between the upper and lower. That bit of movement was driving me nuts so I was glad to find these. I cannot speak on its longevity though.

Posted by Hickok on 25th Aug 2025

I have been using these Accu-Wedges for many years in all my AR-15's. They work. It is really a "no-brainer", they remove the wobble between the upper and lowers, they don't cost much, and they are simple to install.

    AR build essential

Posted by LNO, on 25th Aug 2025

These shims virtually eliminate any loose upper/lower slack and rattles. They are very easy to install and seem to last forever, although a bag contains five. Even though AR parts from good companies are generally precise in measurements, it is inevitable there will be some permissible tolerances and these plugs simply reduce the annoying consequences.

    accu wedge

Posted by JDUB on 25th Aug 2025

If you are unfamiliar with this product the accu wedge is used to eliminate play between upper and lower receivers of AR-15's. These are a useful solution to less than perfect fit of recievers. I would recommend the product if you have any play between your upper and lower.

    Worked Perfectly

Posted by GunKnightSwift, on 25th Aug 2025

These worked perfectly to remove the slop between my upper an lower. Keep in mind that they need to be filed down (I used a dremel) to fit your receivers. They are made with extra material on the bottom to be removed so they will fit any receiver.

    Do what they need to

Posted by BeepBoop, on 25th Aug 2025

I've used these for several builds. They work exactly as they should and take the wiggle out of the receiver. Requires a bit of fitting but they are very useful once you have them cut down to size. Highly recommended.

Get the slop out of my spikes AR-15 upper-to-lower, wish I could’ve gotten a few more.. (orders limited 1 per customer) Makes it a little harder to close the rear takedown pin so if you can’t get it closed maybe try sanding down the bottom a little bit if you run into the same issue.

    Surprisingly Excellent

Posted by James on 23rd Jun 2025

Had a little side to side slop between an upper and a lower that I felt a nylon screw wouldn't help. Placing this in the lower produced a very tight lockup and eliminated any play between the upper and lower. This is an excellent product.

    They work...

Posted by A. Magno on 18th Jul 2020

These little things are an inexpensive upgrade that doesn't require any modification to your rifle. It removes any slop between the upper and lower receiver of your AR15. The claim is by doing this the rifle's accuracy will increase. I've owned ARs with tolerance differences between the upper and lower in the past and I never really worried too much about it. But after I saw a video demonstrating how the accuracy increased, albeit a small percentage, I figured using them wouldn't hurt. Well long story short I have them in all my ARs now. I do like that my ARs now feel like one solid rifle versus two halves that wiggle here and there. One caveat though, it will probably require you to remove some material from the base of the wedge to get a custom fit. So have some sandpaper or a small grinding tool handy. You don't want the wedge to make it too difficult to push the disassembly pin in and out. You're looking for a snug but manageable fit.

An Accu-Wedge is a must for all M-16/M-4/AR-15 rifles

Posted by Lloyd Riley on 20th May 2020

The wedge material is fairly hard and does not compress much, so a sharp knife or exacto can be used to slice off thin layers of the wedge bottom if the rear take down pin will not press back in easily. I took too much off my first wedge and still had a wobble. It's better to slice 2 to 3 thin layers than one thick layer to obtain the best fit.
