  • This is ADE's entry level red dot origianlly released in 2014. Over the years of improvement, it is one of best budget red dot for the quality at this price range. We have made it more durable to withstand recoil and improved the ability to hold zero. Designed in Oregon. Starting Jan 2024, this red dot is shipped with Motion Awake Technology.
  • Starting 2024, this red dot will be shipped with the Motion Activated System. While the red dot is turned on, the red dot illumination goes to sleep after five minutes of inactivity, but when any motion or vibration is detected, it instantly switches on illumination at the previous brightness setting. Users also have the option to manually turn the red dot power off to disable the Motion Activated System.
  • Designed to fit optic cut/plate that is compatible with Vortex Venom/Burris Fastfire/Doctor footprint. Please note: Some aftermarket slides have a precise optic cut based on the curved edge/corner of Vortex Venom, one of the common slide manufacturers is PSA Dagger(with Doctor cut). ADE and other brand red dots do NOT have the same curve as Vortex Venom, therefore this ADE RD3-009 red dot does NOT fit the aftermarket slide with CURVED vortex venom optic cut.
  • Dimension: 1.9" length x1.1" width x1.0" height. IP67 Waterproof. The lens is coated with multi-coating to eliminate glare and provide a high level of performance in low light. Lenses are precision ground and polished to exacting geometries to virtually eliminate parallax and to provide a very clear, crisp sight picture.

The screw comes with our red dot come with a pair of M3x6mm screws to connect to the pre-assembled picatinny mounting base. Some mounting plates made by other companies for specific handgun might need a longer screw such as M3x8mm or shorter screw such as M3x4mm depends on the thickness of the mounting plate/adapter. If you can’t get the screw to work properly, we recommend going to a local hardware store such as ACE Hardware to get the right size.

So far its a great little sight.

Posted by Cameron on 21st Aug 2025

So far this little sight seems to be a good value for the money. The sighting adjustment is a little weird (there are no clicks to the adjustment screws, they simply turn and the dot moves). I mounted it on top of my Burris AR-536 optic as a close range sight option and took it to the range. Initially it shot quite a bit high and I forgot to bring the little screwdriver to the range with me so I couldnt zero it on that outing. Next time I wont forget. It withstood the recoil of my AR-15 just fine and the dot itself is pretty bright even outside during bright days. If I can zero it well and if it holds the zero through a few thousand rounds then Id say its well worth the price. As a side note: the packaging, the accessories included, and the dust cover are all very nice touches.

Above and Beyond - Will update if any major changes occur

Posted by Anonymous Guy on 21st Aug 2025

For the price, this seems awesome. I recently purchased a Sar 9 mm and couldn’t find any optics that would fit without milling the slide. I didn’t want to do anything so drastic, so I found a part made by Galloway that adapts the fitting to this screw set. Haven’t zeroed it in, so we’ll see how that goes, but they give you the battery every tool you need to adjust and install it, which I was really pleased to discover. Read the info! ADE has a full line of awesome products, green dot and red, for an in-depth range of compatibilities. Make sure your setup fits the sight before buying and you’ll be happy. Designed in America, great warranty and the company seem like they’re really passionate about doing things right. I’m happy with my purchase.

    So far so good.

Posted by unhappy biker on 21st Aug 2025

I bought this for one purpose; to be a 45° offset CCO. While it was a little bit of a pain to get zeroed, in part due to the range having a cease-fire every 2 shots. The zeroing issue I feel is primarily because there is no "clicks" to go by, so you pretty much have to guess, test, and revise every adjustment, so unless you are cowitnesses, bring plenty of ammo. However, once zeroed. It works well. It is solid so far. It gets knocked around quite a bit, I'm pretty rough on my guns. It is on an AR, so recoil is pretty minimal. Parallax is nil as far as I can tell. It is excellent for reflex, I'd say it's on par with high end sites in that respect. Doesn't matter where you look through the site, the dot stays on target. I am planning on buying another and see how it holds up on my FN 45 tac. Will update then. Update Jan 5, 2017 Still good. Been to the range several times now. Several fast drills, even a few knocks. Zero is still on tight. Several hundred rounds down with no problem. One flaw is the finish is a little weak. Where I have to have it mounted for functionality and fit it gets hit by ejected casings frequently. Other than scratching the paint a bit, still works great.

    Good value.

Posted by Kevan M. on 21st Aug 2025

This optic is a good value at the lower end of the price scale for optics. The On/Off button is large and easily accessible. It gives you 4 levels of brightness that increase the size of the dot. The optic has held zero for the first 1000 rounds but I have it mounted on a SW22 Victory and it is stationary, not subject to the battering it would be if mounted on a slide. The instructions are vague and not really helpful. Fortunately, getting it mounted and operational is not very complicated. The adjustment and locking screws are very small and hard to see in a dim indoor range. The adjustment screws don't have any direction indicators to show up/down or right/left or MOA clicks. Making the adjustments to zero are more of a guess until you get it right. An adjustment wheel with directional arrows and MOA scale is part of the package but it slides over a screw driver. Using the wheel blocks your view of the tiny screws making it impossible to place the screwdriver in the slot. Despite some minor drawbacks, if you want a red dot optic for range use without spending $200 or more, this is a good choice.

    An Honest review

Posted by HANs on 21st Aug 2025

Ok , first off after reviewing this item on Amazon I was a bit turned off, there are locking screws you must unlock then adjust for windage and elevation, then lock the settings down. The battery is under the glass housing. Difficult to replace with a new battery and then tighten battery housing down. Also a turn off. However, at the range loosening the locking screw was no big deal provided you can actually visualize the standard screwdriver turning the locking screws. I was unsure as to how far I should back out the screws, after 5/6 quaterturns I was able to adjust for windage and elevation and then tighten locking screws! Speaking of windage and elevation, there is NO direction on the Red Dot to instruct you which way to turn for adjustments. ADE provides a wheel in the package after an educated guess, I determined which way was which! I believe one must place the wheel on top of which adjustment you wish to make with the flathead screwdriver that is in the package. Screwdriver does NOT fit thru wheel so you can NOT place screwdriver directly on the adjustment screws! Optics are good for these old eyes!. Red Dot appears after about 4-5 pushes on the ON/OFF button for brightness. So how do you decrease the brightness? Overall opinion. Not a bad scope, since I only hand tighten the scope to the rail, I had to retighten after 35 rounds. My shot placement is very good at 7 yards, 12 yards I need work and not faut of the scope! For screwing around and plinking with a .22 get this sight! Instuctions with the package is fair.

Great RMR for the price as a starter or training

Posted by John V. on 21st Aug 2025

I use multiple red dots on multiple firearms for competitions. Some are inexpensive and some cost plenty of money. I got this red dot because I was looking for an inexpensive red dot to train with at home using my SIRT pistol. It is a good fit for my use as I am practicing drawing from a holster and hitting a laser target. If you used red dots before you know that when you have one on a pistol, the biggest problem is finding the dot when you first raise the firearm to firing position. You can mount this to a SIRT or a Glock using this mounting plate that goes on the dovetail of the rear sight Ade Advanced Optics Glock Tactical Mini Dotx Sight Pistol Mount Base . Here are some things you need to know before you buy: - The battery is installed on the bottom which means you will have to dismount it to install a new battery and you will most likely need to zero it again. - There is no auto shut off feature which means that you may forget to turn it off and you will need to change the battery more often than you should. - There is only one button for operation. Holding it pressed for about 2 seconds, turns on and off the dot. Pressing it repeatedly while the dot is on, changes the brightness. - It does not remember the last brightness setting and it always comes on at the highest brightness. - The dot is not as crisp as other more expensive RMRs - It has locking screws for the adjustments so it will not lose zero easily but the adjustments do not have 1 MOA clicks. Also, make sure that the locking screws are loose before you attempt any adjustments. - It comes with a rail mount plate and a hard cover that goes on tight so it will not fall off and get lost. Finally, let me say that I would not use this for a competition because it is 5 MOA and to be honest, at high brightness levels it looks more like 6 or 7 MOA. Most competitions are at 15 yards or further which makes this too inaccurate on small targets. But, given that this is an inexpensive red dot, if you want it as a starter or just to practice with, I believe it will work well and you will be happy with it.

If you want a red dot for a 22 AR-15. This will do just fine.

Posted by john on 21st Aug 2025

Bought this for a joke build for my sar 9. The plan was that I could only buy gun accessories off of Amazon and then I'd see if I could beat my buddy in three gun. I'd say that this is a sub par pistol red dot. The first one I received was very touchy. It wouldn't turn on or off or switch brightness reliably. The one I got as a replacement worked fine. the thing that surprised me was that it held zero. and I didn't baby it. I beat the devil out of it. I didn't smash it on stuff. But after the match I put it through a torture test. This red dots probably got a little less than 700 rounds on it. And it started to just turn off. It isn't broken. It works just like normal when turning it on or off and changing the brightness. It just randomly turns off or changes brightness while shooting. I wouldn't recommend this as a slide mounted pistol red dot. If you're mounting it on something like a Ruger 22 pistol or on just about any rifle that doesn't beat you up when you shoot it it should be just fine. It's just cant handle being battered around sitting on top of a pistol slide. This red dot did what I wanted it to do and I new from the beginning that the cheap stuff on Amazon won't last. So I can't fault it. That should be common sense. I wasn't expecting vortex quality out of this. All and all it's a decent little red dot on a budget. It's definitely larger than a 5moa dot. But who cares. I don't think most people are trying to drive tacks with a red dot anyways. If you're trying to get a red dot for a rifle that's 308 or lower calibre. (I probably wouldn't suggest bolt actions) or a 22 pistol with a rail. This is a good budget friendly option.

Great red dot for bangin on a budget

Posted by Robert Wall on 21st Aug 2025

I bought this red dot to try on my Canik TP9SFX. Since its purchase and install I've fired around 2000 rounds and tested it in various conditions before reviewing. Cons: Under mount battery compartment requires removal of the sight in order to change the battery. Adjustment can be tricky as the flat head windage/ elevation screws have no click to let you know how many MOA you've adjusted (on the plus side, the sight comes with an adjustment dial to help estimate your changes). No shake-awake feature for quick turn on but, for the price, I was expecting a lot of fanciness. The dot is not the most crisp compared to a vortex or burris, but gets the job done. Pros: This sight is easy to install and fits on most commonly available mounting plates. After 2000 rounds, this thing has held zero with no issues. Just make sure you lock the zero with the rear set screws. The brightness is adjustable via the combination power and brightness adjustment button, and is easy to adjust on the fly with a gloved hand due to the button size (I should mention however, that the power button turns the dot on to its brightest setting by default). At 5 MOA, this dot is easy to find and easy to see, ESPECIALLY if you suffer from any, ahem, age-related eye issues. By far, this sight is worth the money. If you are new to shooting with a carry optic, or put your firearm through a lot of training abuse, give this a try. 5 people found this helpful

It mounted just fine on my SD9VE with the sight mark mini shot ...

Posted by Ryan Coslett on 21st Aug 2025

I was actually shocked on the quality of this product for only $50 dollars you can't beat it. It mounted just fine on my SD9VE with the sight mark mini shot mount. Gonna take this down range this weekend see if it holds zero after 300-400 rounds. Definitely will be getting more to install for my friends if this hold up.

This red dot sight is one of the finest I have used

Posted by Customer on 21st Aug 2025

This red dot sight is one of the finest I have used. This is the second one I have purchased. They work great in daylight as well as at dusk. The six levels of brightness work very well. They are a good comparison th much higher priced red dots. Ade Advanced Optics RD3-009-2 Red Dot Sights
